Tigray Interim President brands TPLF cabinet takeover illegal, warns of looming catastrophe

Tadesse Werede (Lt. Gen.), president of the Tigray Interim Administration, characterized TPLF's forced takeover of regional government infrastructure as illegal after Debretsion Gebremichael was sworn in as head of a parallel administration. The TPLF-controlled regional council convened in the Mekelle cabinet meeting hall under armed protection after declaring itself elected earlier in the week.
