Ethiopia and France sign 54.6 million euro deal to modernize national grid

Ethiopia and France signed a 54.6 million euro concessional loan, financed by the French Treasury, to digitalize and modernize Ethiopia's electricity transmission network under the broader 270 million euro RISED programme. The project, implemented by GE Vernova France and RTE International with Ethiopian Electric Power, aims to expand electricity access to over four million people and halve outage frequency and duration.
